About Membership
When you join Theatre Bay Area, you become part of a community of theatremakers — a vibrant community of performers, writers, directors, designers, administrators, and performing arts organizations who make up the unique diversity of our Bay Area theatre scene. Together, we are an alliance of theatremakers that promotes, strengthens, and advocates for the theatre industry in our region.
Which Membership is Right for You?
Our four membership tiers are divided into two main categories: For Individuals, and For Organizations.
Individual Memberships
Our Free Individual Membership and Premium Individual Memberships are designed for individual theatre artists and workers. If you are looking to connect with the Theatre Bay Area community as an individual, these are the memberships for you. Actors, Directors, Designers, Technicians, and Stage Managers are some of the disciplines we see get the most value out of an Individual Membership.
Organizational Memberships
Associate
This membership is intended for non-theatre producing companies that are interested in connecting with the Theatre Bay Area community. Photographers, theatre supply companies, training programs, and coaches are some of the businesses we see get the most value out of an Associate Membership.
Company
This membership is intended for theatre producing organizations, individual producers, and producing collectives. With a pricing model that is tiered based on annual budget size and nonprofit status, the Company Membership is accessible regardless of size. Company Members have exclusive access to listings on our audience facing platforms. Our Company Members reflect the full spectrum of theatre companies across 11 counties in the Bay Area and beyond!
