For those in our community who hadn’t gotten the news, prominent Bay Area actors Arwen Anderson and Rod Gnapp were in an auto accident in late 2011, and while they were very lucky, they still sustained some injuries. Arwen wrote to us here at Theatre Bay Area to let the many friends and colleagues who have expressed their concern know how they have been doing.
From Arwen Anderson:
Basically, Rod and I were on our way to Truckee for a long weekend getaway and, due to a freak mechanical malfunction in the front end of our truck, ended up in a high speed rollover accident on Highway 80 outside of Sacramento. Thank goodness no other cars or people were involved or injured. Rod and I were incredibly lucky considering the seriousness of the accident. Rod suffered minor injuries and I got a little more banged up–some fractures and contusions–all of which are healing nicely, and we are both so grateful that it was not worse. Currently, we are moving forward in good spirits, focused on healing and easing back into regular life. We are both deeply moved by the outpouring of love and support from our community and are so grateful to be part of such a thoughtful and giving theatrical family.
To those who have already reached out with healing thoughts and fun visits and wonderful food, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. There are still so many of you that we would love to see or hear from or hug and laugh with and so please feel free to reach out and drop us a line at arweena@yahoo.com and rodgnapp@yahoo.com.
